What's Included?
ITALY SPRING TOUR - PIEDMONT, ITALY May 2012 - Saturday, May 26th - Saturday, June 2nd - Barolo, Barbaresco, Asti, Alba, DoglianiSpend 7 days with us as we explore the wine regions of Piedmont. Learn how the famous wines of Barolo & Barbaresco are made, plus enjoy the regional food where the Slow Food movement began. Includes: 7 days accommodations in farmhouse, all meals (except 2 dinners), 6 winery tours, cooking class & ground transportation during tour. COST: €2500 euro (per person based on double occupancy) Does not include airfare.

Day 1: Pick-up at Milan Malpensa (MXP) airport at appointed time. Ground transportation to farmhouse near Alba, arrival & check-in by 5pm. Welcome reception with appetizers and wine. Time for guests to relax at the farmhouse. Later, a multi-course dinner at local ristorante in Alba. Ground transportation and dinner inclusive.
Day 2: Breakfast at farmhouse. Winery tour to Barbaresco commune to visit the first cooperative winery in the area. Tour the facility that helped put Barbaresco wines on the map. Lunch in the small village at famous pasta osteria. Second winery visit to another Barbaresco producer. Tour the vineyards of Barbaresco then private wine tasting in the cellar. Dinner at Michelin star restaurant in Barbaresco commune. Ground transportation, tour and meals are all inclusive.
Day 3: Breakfast in Alba. Winery tour to the Roero district to visit a small family owned winery famous for Arneis. Enjoy an educational walk through their vineyards as we learn about their special microclimate. Lunch at nearby osteria. After lunch we will head back to Alba to allow guests to explore the city and do some shopping. All ground transportation, tour, breakfast & lunch inclusive. Dinner is not included. Guests are free to dine on their own this evening.
Day 4: Breakfast at farmhouse. Winery tour to Barolo. Visit a large family winery with award-winning Barolo wines. Tour their modern facility and a private tasting. Lunch in nearby village at osteria with a brief stop in Barolo commune. Second tour to a small family winery and their beautiful property that overlooks the Barolo valley. That evening we will prepare a multi-course meal at the farmhouse for everyone. Ground transportation, tour and meals inclusive.
Day 5: Breakfast at farmhouse. Cooking class at local agriturismo to learn how to make regional dishes. We will lunch at the cooking school with the food we prepared in class. After lunch, guests will have leisure time to enjoy as they wish. Guests are free to dine on their own this evening. All ground transportation, breakfast, cooking class & lunch inclusive. Dinner not included.
Day 6: Breakfast in Alba. We head north to the Asti region of Piedmont to visit a small family owned winery producing Dolcetto, Barbera and the delicious Moscato d'Asti. Learn what differentiates the hills of Alba and hills of Asti. After, we will head to the family's agriturismo for a multi-course meal prepared at their property for us. Ground transportation, tour and meals inclusive.
Day 7: Breakfast at farmhouse. Winery tour to Dogliani to visit famous Dolcetto vineyards and very important oenologist. Private wine tour and tasting at their cellar. Lunch in nearby town of Dogliani. After, we will have a farewell multi-course dinner at Michelin star ristorante in Alba. Ground transportation, tour, lunch & dinner inclusive.
Day 8: Breakfast at farmhouse. Checkout by 10am. Transportation to Milan Malpensa (MXP) airport provided.
